Skateboard Art – Jim Phillips

January 30, 2009 § Leave a comment

Growing up skateboarding, graphics were always a huge part of my life. The artwork of Jim Phillips helped to no less drive my interest into constantly drawing, copying his work and doing my own illustrations of skulls, various severed body parts and vomiting monsters. The Santa Cruz Screaming Hand is nothing short of pure genius and don’t even get me started on how much I love a certain Panther. Thank you Jim, this work holds up today and basically defines an entire era of skateboarding. I still love stickers and highly recommed checking out the sticker gallery.
