500 Days of Summer

I went to see 500 Days of Summer last night and have to say it’s a very enjoyable film. It has a good balanced tone about it that’s neither too serious, nor too funny. But it walks a really fine line to make it just right. Not to mention two really great performances from Joseph Gordon-Levitt (soon to be Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe?!?) and Zoey Deschanel (who I wouldn’t mind spending 500 days with). Joseph Gordon-Levitt also gave a great performance in the modern/film noir/high school/detective saga, Brick. This is the first major release for Mark Webb and I think the one thing he did really well was the way he includes things in the film that we’ve all gone through at some point. I definitely saw events from past relationships, it’s definitely way funnier when it’s all in the past. But overall I highly recommend, very funny, very well done.
