Richard Barnes Photography

I’m not quite sure what it is that makes a still life have the impact that it does. The simplicity of a museum display has a high emotional takeaway from it. It gives me the sense that these displays are shot when no one else is there, there’s no one around except these static dioramas. Everything that was once alive is now static, frozen in time in a falsified environment. The work of Richard Barnes explores this and much more.
