Black Breath – Heavy Breathing

Washington’s Black Breath have released a must have 2010 metal release. Heavy, great vocals, the album is non-stop from start to finish. I highly recommend. Catch them on their current tour in some locations with Converge.

Madlib – Medicine Show #3: Beat Konducta In Africa

Medicine Show #3 isn’t my favorite Madlib release, but it’s a good listen if you’re a fan of his work. He’s not really game changing on this one, but with a lot of his releases he’s taking you on a journey in his style of chopped, sometimes off-beat samples. The best thing about this volume of his Beat Konducta series is how strong the African samples are, this album acts as more of a random mix through the genre.

Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti – Before Today

Ariel Pink is always an interesting musician in my opinion. I gave this album a full listen and was really liking a lot of things about it. It definitely has it’s Hall & Oates/Easy listening radio influences going on but those are juxtaposed with a fuzzy, warmer indie pop sound that ties it all together. It’s a fun summer album for sure.
